Thursday's Tiddly Tutorial

Hi everyone,
We have a wonderful tutorial today created by Jen of Pieces of Me and I jumped all over her to see asked if we could share it with you and she very sweetly agreed. Take a peek. :)

She shows us how she colors this wonderful card. :)

1800 Member Freebie and Please Read

Hi everyone,
Tiddly Inks has grown very quickly and I can't thank you enough for your support. :) I  have added a new freebie (in the PCP group) as a thank you for your continued support of Tiddly Inks. We are well over 1800 members in the PCP group in about 5 months and that is shocking--and wonderful! :)
While I appreciate all the love and support, I would like to gently remind you of the Term of Use for the digis---they are posted on this blog in full and come with each freebie. I ask that each user read and follow these rules. Infractions directly lead to lost sales and problems for me. I  would much rather spend my time drawing then asking people not to infringe or steal/share images.
However, I would like to touch on the important aspect of NOT sharing the files. Simply, the only person who is allowed to use/color your digital image (whether is purchased or free) is YOU (and your small, young children) but NOT your sister or your best friend. This is part of the agreement in purchasing or accepting the images. I rely on and appreciate your financial support and honesty. Please consider that if everyone gives even a few images away to family and friends, you directly impact my sales--repeatedly. If your friends and family need a Tiddly fix, they can stop by the PCP group because there are always freebies posted. So please, do not include my digis in swaps or as RAKs and gifts. I am happy to provide a gift certificate or send your favorite person the gift you purchase if you need to share the love. :)
Tiddly Inks is a one-person artist and shop...I do it all and I do it a lot. LOL I work very hard to provide fun images and your support allows me to remain an artist and support my daughter. I don’t have helpers or any minions to direct...when you email, you get me and I try to email with a smile. :)

So please consider the ramifications before copying, sharing, giving away, or any other actions that might apply here. I do greatly appreciate the 99% of you who are following these rules and supporting me with great enthusiasm and joy. That makes me love and enjoy all that I do. :)

And support of Tiddly Inks doesn’t have to come through purchasing on a regular basis (although that helps LOL). It can be by posting a blog badge or telling your local stampers about me. If you are only able to accept my freebies at this point, please try to support me by word of mouth (either blogging or locally) and sharing something positive about Tiddly Inks. I would appreciate that very much.

I feel very fortunate to be able to do this and I love being a part of your creativity.
Thank again for everything.
XOXO
Christy
Here is a short recap of the terms of use...you may read the full file above if you wish. If in some way, I didn’t cover what you want to do, please ask me first.
  • Only the single, original purchaser has the right to use the product.
  • Retain the copyright signature on the art if at all possible.
  • This is only for personal use--you may sell handmade cards, but not the images themselves.
  • You may not claim this as your own design.
  • You may not give, share (that includes swaps or RAKs), or sell this design (or your finished colored version of my design) as a digital file or printed sheet without my permission.
  • It would be greatly appreciated if you would credit www.tiddlyinks.com wherever the design is posted. This helps me build new friends even if you can’t support me by purchasing at this time.
  • If I didn’t cover it, it probably isn’t okay without asking....Ask me first. I am pretty reasonable.

Meet Lysa

We have been introducing members of our design team, the Tiddly Inkers, and I have one more for you--Lysa :)

Lysa has been part of the team since the beginning and she has the most amazing coloring techniques. She very kindly shared her tutorial on shiny black hair a while back and you can find it here. :) She has wonderful cards and I am glad she is part of the team.

Here is what Lysa had to say about herself:
Hi! I'm Lysa! I'm happily married to my wonderfully supportive husband who doesn't mind that I've taken over the office :) and live in Sunny Arizona. I've been stamping & scrapbooking for about 7 years. I LOVE everything about being crafty, and especially love to color, its fun and relaxing! You can usually find me buried amongst my papers, ribbons & buttons in my craft room any spare moment I get! I can't tell you how excited I am to be a Tiddly Inker! (And to top it off- I get to be on a design team with my fabulous sister!)
So glad to have Lysa on the team...if you go to her blog, you can see her real-life beautiful hair. :)

Please Meet Larissa and Maylee

I would like to introduce you to two more Tiddly Inkers. :)
Let's start with Larissa and then Maylee.

Larissa has been part of the design team since the very beginning of the shop and even before. :) She has been published many times in HobbyZine and other magazines.
Here is what she had to say about herself:
Hi! My name is Larissa and I am 32 years old. I live in a small town in the middle of the Netherlands. Next to making cards I love reading (especially thrillers), shopping and visiting musicals with my friends. I have been crafting all my life. I have been making little fabric dolls and cute stuff from felt and I have been doing much other stuff. I started making cards about 10 years ago and the last years I have started with stamping and digi stamping. My style in card making could be described as less is more. I like the clean and simple style. I love colouring my images, it is so relaxing. Most times I use my pencils, but I love to try other colouring mediums, like distress inks. I love the versatility of digital stamps. I was really happy to discover the Tiddly Inks shop in December 2009, because I already was a big fan of Christy’s stamps at Stamping Bella. It was a dream come true to be chosen for the Tiddly Inks design team and I am really enjoying it!

Maylee is a recent addition to the design team, but her cards and designs are very lovely. And she just so happens to be sisters with Lysa, another DT member. Here is what she had to say about herself. :)
I'm a native Arizonian but now live in San Jose, CA. I'm a SAHM to three kids and married to the most wonderful husband who is super supportive of my stamping and scrapbooking obsession. I started stamping over six years ago and immensely enjoy coloring line art images, it is so relaxing. Although most of my time is spent volunteering at my kids' school and driving to soccer, swimming and all things in between. When I do have a spare moment, you will find me in my craft room getting inky fingers and sticky hair. I'm delighted to be a Tiddly Inker!
I am thrilled to have both Larissa and Maylee on the team and I enjoyed getting to know them more. :) I hope you get a chance to stop by and say hi to them both.

Meet Our New Tiddly Inkers - Donna and Nancy

We have quite an amazing design team, so I think it is way past time to share a little bit about our talented crew. As I have time in the next little bit, I will be slowly introducing you to our DT members, whether they be guests or full-timers, and posting a sample of their cards, plus a little bit about them on the Design Team page here.

I really love each one of our design team members and it is a positive attitude and giving spirit as much as creativity and lovely presentations that make each Tiddly Inker special. Each lady has something that makes them stand out and I think that it is not only conisistency of design and presentation, but also the desire to be different and original. I am blown away each week with their work and I hope you enjoy getting to know a bit about each one of them over the next few postings.

Let's start with our two newest members: Donna and Nancy

Donna caught my eye with her clever blog title and a gothic card with a branching arch.
I asked her to join us for a guest spot when I saw her lovely work was always that creative. :)

Here is what our popsicle-toed lady had to say about herself:
Hi, I'm Donna and I'm thrilled to be here as a Guest Designer for Tiddly Inks. I live in the East Bay of San Francisco with my hubby of nearly 35 years and our 2 Pixie Bob kitties. We're both retired so that means I have the luxury of playing in my scrap room nearly every day. I've always been a crafter but fell in love with making cards and other paper crafts just over 2 years ago. It began with my Cricut Expression but fairly recently I've broadened my horizons and begun stamping as well. I'm particularly fond of digi's because of their versatility and enjoy a wide variety of styles. I'm still learning with my Copics, but coloring is a joy. One thing I can definitely say about myself is I'm not a minimalist. My favorite motto is "More is never enough" so there's usually alot going when I create. LOL Thank you Christy and the fabulous Tiddly Inkers for giving me this opportunity. I hope I can inspire you even half as much as you have inspired me.

Nancy was asked to be a guest designer for our team after a simply fantastic and unbelievably complicated project caught my eye on the Halloween Blog Hop.
Prior to that though, Nancy was sharing some amazing and beautiful cards for our challenges.

Here is what our Crabbie lady had to say about herself:
My name is Nancy and I live in Maryland. I am married to my soul mate and we have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. I have been card making for the past 3-4 years and love every minute of it. I love what the world of blogging has done for this craft. I have been crafting ever since I was a child and really love using products outside of their intended use. I hope to be able to inspire you to do the same thing.
Thank you Christy for inviting me to be a part of your Design Team with the rest of the Design Team.

I will be back later with more details on the remaining Tiddly Inkers and what makes them tick. :) I hope you enjoyed getting to know these two...I am looking forward to seeing more of their amazing work over the next few months. :)

Challenge 16: Windows! Create a card/project with a window that either opens or you can see the image through

Hi lovely ladies! :) Welcome back after a two-week stint creating princess cards. We have a new challenge for you this week: Windows! Create a card or project with windows. As you can see, the DT took that to heart and created a variety of projects with all sorts of windows. :) I hope you have fun opening the window of your mind (very bad pun intended) and getting creative.

We also have two new members this week, Donna and Nancy. :) How fun!
Sadly, we said goodbye to Emma last week, but we will always have a spot for her should she wish to return. :)
See you tomorrow with the winners from the princess challenge.

Your cards are due in one week. Please remember to use a Tiddly Inks image. :)

Good bye and Thank you, Emma

It is with great regret that I announce Emma will be stepping down from the design team. She has been a delightful, gifted presence on our team since the beginning.
I hope you pop on over to her blog and say good bye and good luck as she takes some time to be with her family and simplify her life.
She will be sorely missed.
Thank you Emma for everything you have created and for such a lovely attitude and creative spirit. :)
XOXO
Christy

Here is one of my favorite Emma cards. :)
